Recommended Activities and Excursions

If you do not wish to take part in one of the excursions offered by the agencies, we can organize tours for groups staying at IAM or we can help you if you have plans of your own.

Vicinity of IAM

• Trip by boat from Turunç to various bays where you can swim
  
  
• Hiking tour with great views starting from IAM (the trip from IAM to Içmeler takes about 3-4 hours); return by dolmus or mini-bus or even better by water taxi
• Trip by water taxi to Marmaris to visit the castle and port area or at night-time to the street where the discos are
  
  
• Amos, a particularly beautiful bay for swimming (there are sun-beds some of which are shaded by trees; there is also a good restaurant). Access by taxi or water taxi (about 4 km). The remains of the ancient city of Amos are close by.

Further afield / day trips

• Dalyan/Kaunos: trip combining many different things. Trip by boat, Dalyan Delta nature park, Lykian rock tombs, remains of the ancient Roman city, beautiful place, swimming from a beach or, if you prefer, in a swimming pool; it is also possible to go to a thermal bath
  
  
• On Thursdays you can go to the farmers’ market in the town of Mugla. The houses, restored in their original style, are also worth seeing
  
  
• Trip to the port of Knidos on the Reşadiye peninsula. A beautiful trip with great views. It is possible to stop for a swim on the way or to visit Datça (harbour and the old quarter Eski Datça). There is an ultra-modern olive oil factory (Olive Farm) on the way into the town. You can visit the factory and taste the olive oils and also purchase them. There are also cosmetics on sale.
  
  
• The little island of Sedir Adasi in the Gulf of Gökova where you will find a small pure white sandy beach and the ruins of the ancient town of Kedreae. There is a boat here that you can take to another highly recommended beach.
  
  
• A tour of villages on the Bozburun peninsula visiting Bozburun, Sögüt, Bayir and Selimiye. There are opportunities for swimming in all these places. There are good seafood restaurants on the waterfront in Selimiye and opportunities for swimming.
